Bishop Ford's Ghost?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School in a few weeks for a photography project. Heard whispers about a ghost story connected to the old clock tower...supposedly a former student who died the… more

Yeah, Bishop Ford... that place has serious vibes. The clock tower story? It's a bit muddled, honestly. Some say it was a girl who fell, others a prank gone wrong, nobody really knows the truth. It's been decades, and the details are lost to time and gossipy whispers. Lots of different versions floating around. As for sneaking around after dark...forget it. Security is intense; cameras everywhere. Seriously, you'll be caught faster than you can say "ectoplasmic residue." Stick to daytime photography – you'll get better light anyway. And, be respectful of the school grounds. It's still an active school, after all, not some abandoned asylum. Maybe try reaching out to the school's alumni association? They might have some old yearbooks or anecdotes that could flesh out the legend. Good luck with your project – and don't get caught!

Wow, thanks for the heads-up! I hadn't considered the security aspect – that's a major bummer. Daytime photography it is then. The alumni association is a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely look into it. All these conflicting stories are kinda what drew me to it in the first place; it's like trying to piece together a really blurry old photo. I appreciate the advice, seriously. I’ll let you know what I dig up.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
