Yeah, Ma On Shan can be a maze! I've gotten turned around myself a few times. The trails are less "clearly marked" and more "suggested pathways." Seriously, the map apps are kinda useless beyond the main trails. I'd suggest downloading a dedicated offline hiking map specifically for the park before you go – something with detailed trail markings. And maybe even carrying a compass, just in case your phone dies. That little temple sounds awesome, though. Spooky awesome. Probably best not to wander off the marked paths if you don't want more unexpected encounters!

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
