Failing that, the University of Hong Kong library's special collections could be worth checking out – they're usually pretty comprehensive on local history. Good luck with your digging!

From Whampoa Garden, the easiest way to Hung Hom Ferry Pier is probably via taxi or a short bus ride. The views are pretty good from most of the Star Ferry crossing, honestly. You'll get some great skyline shots no matter which pier you depart from – Tsim Sha Tsui or Central. Sunset's always a winner, though. For the best light hitting the buildings, maybe aim for a slightly earlier time than you think you need. The golden hour is short! Hung Hom's itself isn't a massive place, so don't stress about getting lost. Just use Google Maps and you'll be fine. Enjoy your trip!
