That's actually really helpful, thanks! The "spirited events" part has me intrigued... My friend's pretty tight-lipped, so I figured I'd cast a wider net first. Good point about the snacks though, Hong Kong sounds insane. I'll definitely be prepared for anything. Maybe I should just bring a whole suitcase full of instant noodles... just in case.
