ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre (ICC). I've heard the elevators are ridiculously fast – like, *ridiculously* fast. Anyone who's been up the… more

They're fast, alright. Not gonna lie, the acceleration is pretty intense. It's not a stomach-dropping freefall, more like a very firm push into your seat. You definitely feel the speed, and there's a slight pressure change – nothing major, but noticeable. If you're a wimp with heights and speed, you might want to sit down. The view from the top is amazing though, so maybe just close your eyes for the ascent and enjoy the scenery afterward? The descent is less noticeable, oddly enough.

Yeah, the ICC elevators are insane. They're seriously fast. I didn't get queasy, but I definitely felt that whooshing sensation – it's a bit like being on a very smooth, very vertical rollercoaster. The view from the top is breathtaking though, totally worth it. If you're really scared of heights, maybe take the elevator up slowly? There are other observation decks in @HongKong with less intense elevator rides. But honestly, the speed is part of the experience. Just focus on the amazing view when you get there.

Wow, thanks! A rollercoaster comparison is perfect – that's exactly what I was picturing. I'm not terrified of heights, but the speed thing is what's got me slightly hesitant. I appreciate the tip about other observation decks in @HongKong – good to know there are alternatives if I need them. The view sounds incredible though; I think I'll just go for it and embrace the whoosh!
