Forget the blogs and Google Maps. Seriously. Head down to the backstreets near the Quarry Bay MTR station – the ones away from the main roads. Look for places with mostly locals eating. Don't be afraid to just wander; the best finds are usually accidental. You'll smell it before you see it – that pungent, incredible aroma of something truly amazing. It’s probably going to be some kind of noodle stall, maybe with something braised in a giant pot. Don't worry about the menu – just point and smile. You'll get something spicy and delicious; trust your gut. Bonus points if there's a line – that's usually a good sign. The best food often isn't Instagrammable; it's just... good.

Early mornings, like before 10am, are your best bet. Weekdays are less crazy than weekends, obviously. Even then, it's still gonna be busy, but manageable. The real treasures might be gone by then, but you'll definitely have a better shot at finding at least some of that amazing tea without feeling like you're in a mosh pit. Good luck, you'll need it!
