Kam Store's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month and stumbled upon this Kam Store place online – looks insane! Their website is all in Chinese, which is a problem, lol. I'm trying to plan a proper grocery hau… more

Honestly, Kam Store is a rabbit hole. It's massive. Forget trying to find one best thing – you'll be overwhelmed. My advice? Go in with a plan. Check out some Chinese food blogs/vlogs (even with the language barrier, you can get the gist from pictures!) and make a list of specific snacks or drinks that look interesting. Then, just… wander. You'll find insane stuff you never even considered. Don't stress about finding the legendary item; embrace the chaos and the discovery. You'll come away with a killer haul no matter what.

That's awesome advice! I totally get the overwhelmed feeling – I’ve been in places like that before and just ended up staring blankly at shelves overflowing with stuff I'd never seen. The Chinese food blog/vlog idea is brilliant, hadn't thought of that. Thanks! I'll definitely be making a list before I go. Embracing the chaos sounds like the best approach. Fingers crossed I find something truly unique.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
