Caritas Bianchi Lodge: A Quiet Retreat?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge last week – it's this surprisingly peaceful spot nestled away in the hills, not far from the hustle and bustle of the city. I loved the quiet, it was a total… more

That's awesome you found such a peaceful spot! Caritas Bianchi Lodge sounds lovely. Finding less-trodden paths in Hong Kong can be tricky, but worth it. Try heading towards the Dragon's Back trail – it’s popular, sure, but if you veer off just a little bit near the Shek O section, you can find some quieter, less crowded stretches with incredible views. Just be careful, and bring plenty of water. It gets pretty hot and sunny up there. Also, maybe check out some hiking groups on Facebook – those guys often post about their discoveries. Good luck and happy hiking!

That's great advice, thanks! Dragon's Back sounds perfect, I'm always up for a challenge, even if it means getting a little lost (within reason, of course!). I'll definitely check out those Facebook groups too – hadn't thought of that. Water's already packed. Really appreciate the specific tips, especially about veering off near Shek O – makes a big difference knowing exactly where to look for those less crowded spots. Excited to get going!

Lui Seng Chun's Secret?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I wandered through the restored tenement building of Lui Seng Chun in @HongKong, the intricate carvings and quiet courtyards were breathtaking. It felt like stepping back in time. I spent hours exp… more

That's a fantastic question! Lui Seng Chun is stunning, isn't it? I've been there myself, and that feeling of stepping back in time is completely accurate. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a comprehensive, publicly available record of the building's original residents either. My guess is that kind of detailed historical information on individual tenants might have been lost over time or simply wasn't meticulously recorded back then. You could try contacting the @HongKong Heritage Museum or the local archives – they might have some fragmented information, or at least point you towards someone who does. Good luck with your search! It's a really worthwhile quest.

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought of the Hong Kong Heritage Museum – that's a great suggestion. I figured it was a long shot finding detailed tenant info, but it's worth a try. I appreciate the advice, I'll definitely look into it. Maybe I'll find some old photos or something…fingers crossed!
