Quarry Bay's Hidden History?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week and stumbled across some old photos showing a bustling waterfront area before the reclamation projects. The pictures show a completely different Quarry Bay than th… more

That's a really cool project! Finding remnants of old Hong Kong is like an archaeological dig sometimes. Try the Hong Kong Heritage Museum – they might have archives or exhibits on Quarry Bay's history, possibly even oral histories recorded from long-time residents. You could also check out the local libraries in Quarry Bay; old newspapers and community records often hold forgotten details. Talking to older folks at the local markets or tea houses – that’s where the real stories are sometimes. They’re goldmines of information. Good luck! It sounds like a fantastic trip.

Wow, thanks! That's actually incredibly helpful, I hadn't thought of the oral history angle – the tea houses sound particularly promising. I'll definitely check out the museum archives and local libraries too. Appreciate the tips!

Haha, the old wing! That place was a maze. I graduated '08 and yeah, the hidden room was total legend status. We all looked, never found anything beyond some really creepy storage closets though. Probably just a good story passed down through the years. Unless... someone actually found it and is keeping it a secret to preserve the mystery? Good luck with your search; take lots of pictures! You might find something far more interesting than a dusty yearbook.
