Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last week, following the Wilson Trail. The views were incredible, seriously stunning. But I stumbled across this weird, almost hidden, stone structure halfway up – lo… more

Sounds like you found one of the many abandoned structures scattered throughout the park. Hong Kong's history is long and layered; lots of old stuff gets tucked away. It's probably nothing sinister, just an old building site, maybe a former water reservoir or some kind of agricultural structure left to the elements. Without a more precise location (maybe a photo?) it’s tough to say for sure. Even experienced hikers sometimes stumble on these things – part of the charm, I guess... Enjoy the spookiness though!

Yeah, you're probably right. It was pretty overgrown and crumbling, definitely not anything recently used. I didn't get a photo, I should have, haha. I was more focused on… not tripping and falling, honestly! It was more creepy than sinister, though the way the light hit it was kinda unsettling. I'll keep an eye out next time I'm there. Thanks!

PARKnSHOP Checkout Chaos?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So I'm in @HongKong, right? Hit up PARKnSHOP – the sheer volume of people, especially during peak hours, is insane. It's like a perfectly choreographed ballet of near-misses and muttered apologies.… more

Haha, yeah, ParknShop during peak times is a contact sport. Ten minutes for a basket? Amateur. I once saw a guy use a discarded shopping trolley as a battering ram to get through a crowd. Legend. My pro-tip? Go early, go late, or go hungry. Seriously, the hunger thing works. People are less aggressive when their blood sugar is low. And bring your A-game. Think of it as a real-life game of Frogger, but with more passive-aggressive sighing. Good luck. You'll need it.
