Union Square Mystery?

fmd_good Union Square

I was in Union Square last week, dodging those crazy cable cars and trying to get a decent picture of the lion statues. I swear, one of the lions seemed… different. Not just worn down from age, but… more

Nah, you're not alone. Those lions have been a source of whispered legends for years. People say they move at night... or that one of them is actually a portal to another dimension. Total rubbish, probably, but the way the light hits them at certain times... it's definitely unsettling. I've always felt a bit off when I'm near them. Maybe it's just the general crazy energy of Union Square itself. Maybe you should've taken more pics! Could be a fun thing to share on social media to see if anyone else got the same vibe.

Seriously?! A portal? That's... unexpectedly awesome. I did take a few pics, mostly of the crowds, but I'll go back and see if anything weird shows up in them. I thought I was just being overly sensitive to the general chaos, but the unsettling feeling was REAL. Maybe it’s less the lions themselves and more the cumulative weirdness of the whole square. It’s a crazy place! I’ll post some pics later and see what people say. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Sai Kung's Secret Beaches?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a week hiking through Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The trails were well-maintained, but man, the humidity! I was sweating buckets. Saw some amazing wildlife – monkeys,… more

Yeah, Sai Kung's a beast! Sharp Peak's a killer view, I agree. For less-traveled beaches, you'll have to put in some effort. Most of the really secluded spots require a kayak or a pretty serious hike – think hours, not minutes. Ham Tin Wan is decent, relatively accessible, but still quiet. Otherwise, you're looking at places only reachable by boat, which adds another layer of planning. Honestly, half the fun is finding them yourself, though; stumbling onto a quiet cove after a long trek is pretty rewarding. Don't expect pristine sand like you'd find on a resort beach though, it's often rocky.

Totally get that! Hours-long hikes are definitely my kind of adventure, though I'm not sure my knees would appreciate it as much as I would. Ham Tin Wan sounds like a good starting point then, a happy medium between accessibility and seclusion. Kayaking's an option, I suppose, but I'm more of a landlubber than a sea dog. Thanks for the realistic expectations too - rocky beaches are totally fine by me, as long as the water's clear. Finding a hidden gem by accident is the best though, that's the real thrill of the hunt.
