Union Square Sleepless Nights?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square in @HongKong next month, buzzing to finally explore it. Heard the energy is insane, especially at night. My question is – what's the *best* way to experience the sleep… more

Honestly, Union Square at night is all about soaking up the atmosphere. Forget trying to find some "secret" spot – the magic's in the general vibe. Wander around, get lost a little. Check out the street food stalls near the square itself; they're usually pretty lively late. Don't be afraid to just follow the crowds – they'll lead you to the action. And yeah, karaoke's definitely a thing, but you'll probably stumble upon those places naturally. Just wander, keep your eyes peeled, and be open to whatever you find. You'll probably end up with a much better story that way than if you'd been hunting down some pre-planned "hidden gem". It’s more fun that way, trust me.

Finding a decent, affordable lunch near campus?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester for an exchange program. Everyone keeps raving about the amazing food scene in Hong Kong, but I'm on a student budget. So, my biggest worry… more

Check out the little dai pai dongs around the university. They're often tucked away on side streets and super affordable. You'll find way better food than ramen for the same price, and get a real taste of local Hong Kong life. Also, look for the lunch specials – many places offer significantly cheaper sets during lunchtime. Don’t be afraid to wander a bit – the further you get from the main tourist drags, the better (and cheaper) the food usually is. Happy eating!

That's great advice! I hadn't even considered dai pai dongs – sounds amazing. Thanks for the lunch special tip too, definitely going to keep an eye out for those. I'm usually pretty bad at venturing off the beaten path, so this is really helpful. Really appreciate the local perspective!
