PARKnSHOP Nightmare?

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So I'm in @HongKong, right? Needed some snacks for my hike up Lion Rock. Went to PARKnSHOP – the one near the MTR station. Holy moly, the sheer volume of people! It was like a scene from a zombie m… more

Oh man, ParknShop during peak hours? That's a rite of passage in @HongKong. My strategy? Go early, go late, or avoid it altogether. Seriously, if you're hiking Lion Rock, grab your snacks before you head to the trailhead. There are smaller shops around that are less crazy. Or just pack everything yourself beforehand. The struggle is real. You're not alone in that zombie apocalypse experience. Next time, bring body armor.

Haha, body armor! That's a great image. I should've just packed a picnic. Lion Rock was amazing though, totally worth the pre-hike ParknShop trauma. I guess I'll know better next time – early bird gets the... less-crowded supermarket, right? Thanks for the tips!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
