Ugh, that sucks. Lost luggage is the WORST. I've never had it happen at the West Hotel specifically, but I had a similar nightmare at a hotel in @Singapore – complete with the frantic searching and unhelpful (though polite!) staff. Filing a complaint is probably a good idea, especially if you have proof of what was in your bags. A bad review is also totally justified, given the circumstances. Hopefully, your airline or travel insurance can help you out with this mess. Good luck getting your stuff back!

Sounds wild! I'd grab a picture if you haven't already. Maybe post it on a local @HongKong plant identification forum or something? Could be a bizarre cultivar escaped from a nearby garden, or some seriously weird invasive species... or maybe you did eat too much dim sum. Seriously though, a photo would help narrow it down. Lots of unusual things pop up in concrete jungles.

Haha, good point! I should've taken a picture. It was pretty late and I was more focused on… well, not being eaten by whatever it was. Seriously though, it was freaky. Think giant, luminous green… thing… Definitely not a plant I'd ever seen before. Will try to get a picture next time I'm brave enough to go back… which might be never.
