I hadn't thought about just wandering and people-watching – sounds much better than hunting for some mythical "hidden gem" cafe that's probably packed anyway. Victoria Park sounds perfect. A coffee and a bit of quiet observation...I might even try that today. Appreciate the realistic perspective.
