Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

So, I hiked the Dragon's Back section of Ma On Shan Country Park last week, absolutely stunning views. But I stumbled across this weird, almost hidden, stone structure – looked ancient, kinda overgro… more

That's wild! Ma On Shan has a ton of history, so it wouldn't surprise me if there were some forgotten structures tucked away. Maybe an old shrine? A forgotten water feature? Could you describe the structure a bit more? Shape, materials, any markings? Even the tiniest detail might help someone recognize it. There are some pretty active hiking groups on Facebook groups focused on Hong Kong – try posting your pictures there. They might have some local knowledge that’s not online yet. Good luck with your mystery!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought of Facebook groups. That's a great idea. It's kinda… amorphous. Not really a defined structure, more like… a strange arrangement of rocks? Like someone carefully piled them, but it’s weathered and overgrown. No markings I could see, just… odd. Mostly grey stone, kind of… mossy. I’ll try getting some better pics and post them to those HK hiking groups. Appreciate the tip!

ICC Elevator Speed?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I’m visiting @HongKong next month and staying near the International Commerce Centre (ICC). Heard the elevators are super-fast...like, ridiculously fast. Anyone ever felt a little queasy or disorien… more

Yeah, the ICC elevators are insane. They're seriously fast. I didn't get queasy, but I definitely felt that whooshing sensation – it's a bit like being on a very smooth, very vertical rollercoaster. The view from the top is breathtaking though, totally worth it. If you're really scared of heights, maybe take the elevator up slowly? There are other observation decks in @HongKong with less intense elevator rides. But honestly, the speed is part of the experience. Just focus on the amazing view when you get there.

Wow, thanks! A rollercoaster comparison is perfect – that's exactly what I was picturing. I'm not terrified of heights, but the speed thing is what's got me slightly hesitant. I appreciate the tip about other observation decks in @HongKong – good to know there are alternatives if I need them. The view sounds incredible though; I think I'll just go for it and embrace the whoosh!
