West Hotel Woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, right in the heart of @Hongkong. Everything was super fancy, the staff were amazing… but the wifi was AWFUL. I couldn't even load a single picture of the ama… more

Yeah, that's a total bummer. Luxury hotels and crappy wifi... it's a surprisingly common combo, unfortunately. I've had similar experiences in other high-end places, even @Singapore. You'd think they'd prioritize reliable internet, especially considering how much they charge. Maybe try contacting them directly through email – sometimes that's more effective than going through the front desk. They might offer some kind of compensation for the inconvenience. Or maybe they’ll just blame the typhoon, who knows...

Ugh, tell me about it! Singapore, huh? I figured it would be better there. Emailing them feels like a monumental task, honestly. I'm already exhausted from dealing with the whole thing. Compensation would be nice, but I'm mostly just frustrated with the whole lack of reliable internet thing – it completely ruined my work trip. Maybe they'll magically fix it for the next guest... a guy can dream, right?

Lui Seng Chun's Hidden History?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally got to see Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous tenement building in @HongKong. The architecture is stunning, seriously. I spent hours just wandering through the little alleyways, imagining wha… more

Wow, I totally get you. Lui Seng Chun is incredible; the atmosphere is just... electric. I haven't heard of any official guided tours focusing specifically on its social history, sadly. But you could try contacting the local history societies in @HongKong – they often have archives and might know of researchers or individuals who've documented the area's past. Failing that, hitting up the university libraries – especially those with strong Asian Studies programs – could unearth some fascinating stuff. Good luck with your digging! You'll probably find some amazing stories.

That's seriously helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about university libraries; that's a brilliant suggestion. Local history societies too – I'm gonna start there. Fingers crossed I stumble across some juicy gossip about the place. It just feels like it's hiding a ton of stories, you know?
