Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, amazing views, seriously. But I stumbled across this weird, overgrown stone structure halfway up – looked kinda ancient, maybe abandoned temple ruins? N… more

Whoa, that's cool! Ma On Shan is full of surprises. There are a lot of old structures tucked away in the park – forgotten tombs, remnants of old villages... it's not unusual to stumble on something unexpected. You could try searching online using Cantonese keywords, maybe something like "山上古蹟" (saan1 soeng1 gu2 jik1) - that translates roughly to "mountain ancient ruins". Failing that, checking out local hiking forums or Facebook groups focusing on @Hongkong might turn up some answers. Someone who frequents that area might recognize it. Good luck with your detective work!

That's awesome, thanks! I didn't even think of using Cantonese keywords – I'll definitely try that. And yeah, checking local hiking groups is a great idea. I've found some pretty obscure trails just from chatting with people online, so hopefully someone there has encountered whatever mystery I stumbled upon. Fingers crossed!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and I've heard whispers of this amazing hidden street food stall tucked away somewhere near the waterfront. Locals call it something else, apparen… more

Nah, they're messing with you. There's no secret super-duper amazing stall. It's all a bit of a local legend, like Bigfoot, but with noodles. Quarry Bay's got tons of great street food, though. Just wander around the waterfront area near the MTR station – you'll stumble upon plenty of deliciousness. Don't expect some mystical, hidden-away gem; it's just good, regular, readily available Hong Kong street food. You'll be fine.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably a bit of a myth. Thanks for the realistic answer though! I'll definitely check out the waterfront area near the MTR then. Sounds way better than hunting for some mythical noodle stall anyway. Appreciate the tip!
