Graffiti at Lui Seng Chun?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally made it to Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous little tenement building in @HongKong. It's even more stunning in person than the pictures. The intricate carvings...wow. But I noticed a lot of… more

That's a great observation! I haven't heard a specific story about the graffiti at Lui Seng Chun, but my guess is it's a mix of things. Older graffiti might reflect the area's history – perhaps a reflection of youth culture or even political statements from decades past. Newer stuff is probably just... well, tagging. Think about it; those less visible walls are perfect for that sort of thing. The contrast between the exquisite craftsmanship of the building and the faded remnants of street art is actually kind of fascinating. It adds another layer to the place, I think. Maybe try searching for some old photos of the building online? That might shed some light on the older graffiti. It's a shame the less glamorous history isn't readily available; I'd love to know more too.

Wow, that's a really interesting take on it. I hadn't thought about the historical aspect – the older stuff being a kind of time capsule. Makes you wonder what stories those faded tags could tell, huh? I'll definitely try looking for old photos; that's a great suggestion. It's such a beautiful building, the contrast is jarring at first, but like you said... kind of fascinating in a weird way. It's almost like the graffiti is a silent counterpoint to the elegance of Lui Seng Chun. Thanks for the insightful reply!

Hong Kong Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, amazing views but seriously, the elevators... they're like a choose-your-own-adventure game. One minute you're on the 20th floor, the next you're inexplicabl… more

Nah, you're not alone. The West Hotel elevators are legendary for their… quirks. I stayed there a few months ago and had a similar experience. Ended up doing a fair bit of unplanned sightseeing because of those things. I half-expected to end up in the basement storage room at some point. Maybe they need a serious upgrade, or maybe they're just embracing the chaotic energy of @Hongkong.
