That's a great description! It really captures that feeling. I've definitely gotten lost (and delightedly so) wandering those backstreets. It's true, there's a completely different energy – much calmer than the main drags. I think it's the unexpected discoveries that make it so special, stumbling upon a tiny shop selling amazing dumplings or a hidden tea house. You're right about the locals; they seem to move through those alleys with effortless grace. I've tried following them, but it's like they vanish into thin air! Maybe I need to develop my "char siu GPS" 🤔
