Escalators to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I've been trekking up and down those insane escalators in Mid-Levels Central for days now, my legs are screaming. Seriously, it's like a vertical city. Saw a street cat chilling on one, totally unbo… more

Ha! You're not the first to be conquered by the Mid-Levels escalators. They're a beast. Locals mostly use a combo of things: minibuses (those little white ones weaving through the streets) are everywhere, and lots of people just live near enough to walk. Some will use taxis, too, of course. There’s no secret tunnel system, unfortunately — though that'd be awesome. Think of it as a daily leg workout with a view! And yeah, those street cats are pros at navigating the whole thing. They've got the best vantage points.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
