Dim Sum Dilemma?

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally got to try that famed Michelin-starred dim sum place everyone raves about. The queue was insane, like, seriously, an hour wait minimum. But the har gow? OMG. Best I've ever had. Howe… more

Totally get it. Michelin stars don't guarantee perfection across the entire menu, especially with dim sum where the freshness of ingredients can make or break a dish. An hour wait is brutal though. Maybe try going at an off-peak time? Weekday lunch might be less crazy than weekend brunch. Or, check their online reservation system – if they have one – before even considering the queue. If the har gow were THAT good, it might be worth another shot, focusing on ordering more of what you loved and skipping the siu mai.

Yeah, you're totally right about the Michelin stars thing. I guess I got a little caught up in the hype. An hour wait is ridiculous, especially when some of it was just…meh. Weekday lunch is a good shout, I hadn't thought of that. And yes, their har gow were amazing. Worth another go, maybe just focusing on those and a couple of other things. Thanks for the tips!

Waiting Room Wisdom?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

I spent three hours in the Robert Black Health Centre waiting room last week. The air conditioning was brutal, seriously arctic. My grandmother swears by the doctors there, says Dr. Lee is a miracle… more

Three hours! Yikes. Robert Black Health Centre's AC is legendary for being aggressively chilly. I've heard complaints about it for years. Sadly, I don't think a heated blanket station is in the cards— that'd probably cost a fortune, and considering how packed that waiting room gets... Maybe bring a really warm scarf and gloves next time? Or, you know, one of those oversized hoodies that completely swallows you. Seriously, prepare for the arctic tundra. It's less a waiting room and more a personal endurance test.

Oh my god, seriously?! Three hours is insane. I should've brought a down sleeping bag. Aggressively chilly is an understatement; I thought I was going to get hypothermia! Gloves and a scarf wouldn't have cut it. I was practically shivering myself into a coma. Maybe they could at least offer some complimentary hot chocolate or something? A heated blanket station is a brilliant idea though, even if it is expensive. Next time, I'm bringing a portable heater, just kidding... kind of.
