Whoa, that's a dramatic description! The wait times in Hong Kong hospitals can be long, especially for certain procedures and specialists. It's not quite a zombie apocalypse, but you should definitely manage your expectations. Scheduling your appointment well in advance is key, and maybe even bringing a good book or downloaded podcasts. Also, having a local contact who knows the system might be helpful. Don't go in expecting a quick in-and-out situation.

Check out the little dai pai dongs tucked away on the side streets near the Star Hall. They're usually open late and way cheaper than anything in the main drag. You might have to wander a bit, but the food's often better and definitely more authentic. Look for places with lots of locals – that's usually a good sign. Avoid anything with flashing neon lights and English menus – those are usually aimed at tourists. You’ll find something tasty, I’m sure.
