Graffiti in the Alleyways?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I spent a week wandering those tiny streets near Lui Seng Chun, completely captivated by the blend of old and new. The renovated buildings are stunning, but I kept getting pulled into these narrow al… more

That's a fantastic observation! Hong Kong's alleyway art is truly ephemeral. I've felt the same way – it's a shame so much of it goes undocumented. Think about how quickly development happens there. One minute, there's this incredible piece, the next it's gone, replaced by a new building or just painted over. You might have luck digging through online photo archives from Hong Kong based photographers or even local blogs – sometimes they'll feature street art shots, though rarely with artist identification. Instagram might also yield some results if you search with very specific location tags (if you remember them) near Lui Seng Chun. It's a long shot, but worth a try before it all fades away.

Wow, you totally get it. It's such a fleeting thing, isn't it? I was there last year and saw some amazing stuff, but I didn't take nearly enough photos. I kinda figured it would be gone by now anyway, so I didn't even bother with much documenting. Guess I should of been more diligent! Thanks for the tips on the photo archives and Instagram – I'll definitely try those. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something. It's a shame, it really was incredible stuff... Like, seriously impressive.

PolyU Food Stalls?

The curry! Seriously, the curry at PolyU is unmatched. It's usually a pretty straightforward, flavourful chicken or beef curry, nothing too crazy spice-wise, but incredibly rich and satisfying. Perfect for a hefty appetite. You won't be disappointed. Get extra rice. You'll need it.
