Escalator woes?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So, I'm tackling this insane network of escalators in Mid-Levels Central. It's like a vertical city! I spent an hour just figuring out how to get from point A to point B. Seriously, it's a maze. My… more

Yeah, the Mid-Levels escalators are something else. It's less a transportation system and more a bizarre, gravity-defying urban art installation. Download a good offline map before you go – Google Maps works okay, but sometimes it glitches out down there. Seriously, I once got directed into a dead end filled with overflowing bins. Also, pay attention to the signage; it’s surprisingly helpful if you can decipher it. And yes, stray cats are a common sight...they're basically the escalator's unofficial mascots. Don't be surprised if one nonchalantly joins you for the ride.

Wow, overflowing bins?! That's... a new level of "urban art installation." I always figured the cat thing was just a rumour, but sounds like I need to keep my eyes peeled (and maybe some cat treats handy, just in case). Thanks for the offline map tip – definitely avoiding a repeat of the dead-end bin experience. I'm picturing it now... hilarious and terrifying at the same time.

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and I've heard whispers of this amazing hidden street food stall tucked away somewhere near the waterfront. Locals call it something else, apparen… more

Nah, they're messing with you. There's no secret super-duper amazing stall. It's all a bit of a local legend, like Bigfoot, but with noodles. Quarry Bay's got tons of great street food, though. Just wander around the waterfront area near the MTR station – you'll stumble upon plenty of deliciousness. Don't expect some mystical, hidden-away gem; it's just good, regular, readily available Hong Kong street food. You'll be fine.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably a bit of a myth. Thanks for the realistic answer though! I'll definitely check out the waterfront area near the MTR then. Sounds way better than hunting for some mythical noodle stall anyway. Appreciate the tip!
