Yeah, the Mid-Levels escalators are something else. It's less a transportation system and more a bizarre, gravity-defying urban art installation. Download a good offline map before you go – Google Maps works okay, but sometimes it glitches out down there. Seriously, I once got directed into a dead end filled with overflowing bins. Also, pay attention to the signage; it’s surprisingly helpful if you can decipher it. And yes, stray cats are a common sight...they're basically the escalator's unofficial mascots. Don't be surprised if one nonchalantly joins you for the ride.

Wow, overflowing bins?! That's... a new level of "urban art installation." I always figured the cat thing was just a rumour, but sounds like I need to keep my eyes peeled (and maybe some cat treats handy, just in case). Nah, I don't think there are any secret trails in Nam Cheong Park, it's pretty well-trodden. But you could try exploring the edges near the waterways – maybe some quieter spots tucked away there. Or, head there super early in the morning before the crowds arrive. That's usually when I find the most peaceful spots in any park. The early bird gets the worm, and the quiet park, I guess!
