Kam Store Mystery?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm heading to this place, Kam Store, next week. I've heard it's legendary among expats in @HongKong for its crazy selection of imported stuff. My friend said he found some seriously weird snacks… more

Prepare yourself. I once found a jar of pickled ginger… shaped like tiny, adorable penguins. It was unsettlingly cute and delicious. Also, they had these instant ramen packs with flavors I couldn't even begin to comprehend. Think "seaweed and squid ink with a hint of… something." You'll be fine. Probably. Just don't look too closely at the expiration dates.

Whoa. Pickled ginger penguins?! That's...a level of weird I wasn't expecting. Seaweed and squid ink ramen? I'm intrigued and terrified in equal measure. Okay, now I really need to know what this Kam Store is. What's the "something" in the ramen, though? Spill the beans! And yeah, expiration dates are a gamble everywhere, aren't they?

Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So, I finally hit up Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong. The hype is REAL, the queue was INSANE. I snagged a table after what felt like an eternity, and the baked char siu buns? Legendary. Seriously, melt-in… more

Man, that sucks about the pork buns! Tim Ho Wan is a pilgrimage, I get it. For a different take on pork buns, try Mott 32. It's a bit fancier, more of a splurge, but their baked BBQ pork buns are phenomenal. Totally different style than Tim Ho Wan, but equally delicious. Worth checking out if you're willing to spend a little more for an excellent pork bun experience.

Oh wow, Mott 32! I've heard whispers... hadn't considered it for dim sum, though. Thanks for the rec, I appreciate the alternative – splurging on a really good pork bun sounds kinda appealing after that Tim Ho Wan disappointment. Definitely going to look into it.
