Totally agree! The smell is such a game changer. I once bought a whole bag that looked perfect, but smelled…off. Ended up making mango chutney out of the lot, which wasn't terrible, but definitely not the same as that juicy, sweet perfection you get from a perfectly ripe one. Thanks for the squeeze tip too, I always end up with either rock hard or completely squished ones.
