Belafran Rd Mystery?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm walking down this residential street, Belfran Rd, right near the hustle of the city but it feels weirdly quiet. I saw this tiny, almost hidden, shop tucked away - looked like it sold old maps… more

That's wild! Belfran Road's got a real… atmosphere. I've spent years wandering around Hong Kong, and yeah, some of those side streets feel like they're from a different era. Never been to that specific shop, but I wouldn't be surprised. Hong Kong's history is crammed into every corner, and sometimes it feels like you're walking through layers of time. I've found some crazy stuff in similar places – old photo studios with untouched negatives, tiny tea houses that look like they've been there for a century… It’s like the city forgets about these places, but they’re still there, whispering stories. Maybe that shop's got a story waiting to be uncovered...

Wow, that's really cool! I've only been to Hong Kong once, and it was such a sensory overload. I didn't even get close to exploring all those back alleys. Your description of "layers of time" is perfect – it really captures that feeling. I kinda wish I'd stumbled onto one of those old photo studios now. That'd be an amazing find. I'm definitely going to try and find out more about this Belfran Road shop. Maybe it’s got some seriously old secrets...

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
