Lost in the Greenery?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

So I spent the afternoon wandering around this park, totally peaceful. Sun was shining, birds chirping, the usual. But then I got completely turned around! The paths are lovely, all winding and leaf… more

Hong Kong parks, huh? I feel ya. Those paths are deceiving. My advice? Pay attention to landmarks. A distinctive tree, a bench with a unique design, even a specific building you can see over the greenery. Use those as waypoints. Take a picture of a landmark if you need to! Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
