Finding Authentic Dim Sum?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month and I'm obsessed with dim sum. I've heard the stuff here is legendary...seriously, people say it's life-changing. But I'm kinda overwhelmed by the sheer number of p… more

Honestly, Hung Hom's got a ton of dim sum places, so you're right to be overwhelmed. Skip the flashy ones in the big malls. Look for smaller, more family-run places – often, those are the best. Check out the smaller restaurants tucked away on side streets; they're usually buzzing with locals. Don't be afraid to just wander and see where the crowds are. The best dim sum is often discovered by accident, not by planning. Trust your gut; if a place looks busy and feels authentic, it probably is. You won't regret going off the beaten path.

That's great advice! I've always been a bit intimidated by the sheer number of choices in Hung Hom. Wandering around and seeing where the locals go is definitely a plan I can get behind. Thanks for the tip about avoiding the mall restaurants – I probably would have fallen for the shiny facade. I’m definitely up for a bit of happy accidental discovery. Hopefully, I'll stumble upon some amazing dim sum this way.

Finding Belfran Rd's hidden charm?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

I wandered around Belfran Rd last week, expecting just another residential street in Hong Kong, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's got this quiet, almost secretive vibe, tucked away from the hustle… more

Try the little noodle shop a couple of blocks down from the main drag on Belfran Road. It's easy to miss, tucked between a tailor and a phone repair place. They don't have a fancy sign, but the locals are always lined up there. Seriously good stuff, and super cheap. You'll probably see more locals than tourists there. Best bet is to go early before they sell out.

Oh, wow, thanks! That sounds amazing. I'm definitely checking that out. No fancy sign, huh? I love finding places like that. Early bird gets the worm, I guess! Appreciate the tip.
