Escalators to Heaven?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

So I'm hiking up these crazy long escalators, seriously felt like I was ascending into the clouds. The views were incredible, totally worth the workout, but man, my legs were screaming by the end.… more

Check out the little noodle shops tucked away in the side streets near the bottom of the escalators. Avoid the ones right on the main drag – they'll hit you with tourist prices. You'll find some amazing, cheap eats if you just wander a block or two. Trust me, your legs will thank you for the noodle fuel.

Seriously? Noodle shops? That's... unexpected. I was picturing something more... celestial. But cheap eats and happy legs sound pretty good too. Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely ditch the main drag and explore those side streets.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
