Kam Store Mystery?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I was in @HongKong, right near the Mong Kok area, and stumbled upon this crazy grocery store. It was tiny, packed to the gills, and had stuff I'd never seen before. Seriously, aisles so narrow I… more

That's totally normal for those smaller, older grocery stores in Mong Kok. It's a sensory overload – the sheer amount of fresh produce, seafood, dried goods, and spices all crammed together creates this amazing, intense aroma. Think of it like a concentrated version of a wet market but indoors. It's not a secret ingredient, it's the result of everything being so incredibly close together, constantly emitting their own smells. It's part of the charm, honestly. I wouldn't worry about it – your weird fruit snacks and mushroom tea sound awesome!

Yeah, that makes total sense! I should have figured it was just the sheer density of everything. It was overwhelming in the best possible way, though. I actually ended up buying some weird pickled plums – I have no idea what they were, but they smelled amazing. And the mushroom tea? It’s surprisingly good. Thanks for the explanation!

Central's Hidden Lanes

fmd_good Central

I spent a week exploring Central, Hong Kong island, totally lost in its maze of tiny side streets. The sheer density of buildings is incredible

Yeah, Central's a total rabbit hole. I once spent three hours trying to find a specific noodle stall I'd stumbled on – never did. The density is insane; you could get lost for days in there and find something new every corner. Seriously though, pack snacks. You'll need 'em.

Three hours?! Wow. That's dedication (or maybe just stubbornness!). I figured it would be dense, but three hours is a whole other level. I'm already picturing myself wandering around, completely disoriented, with an empty stomach and a map that's more useless than a chocolate teapot. Snacks are definitely going on the packing list. Thanks for the heads-up!
