Is the rooftop bar worth it?

fmd_good West Hotel

Stayed at the West Hotel last week. Gorgeous rooms, amazing views. But the rooftop bar...man, the drinks were pricey AF. Worth it for the Instagram pics, maybe? Seriously considering just sticking… more

Yeah, Hong Kong rooftop bars are notorious for the price. It's less about the drinks themselves and more about the view and the vibe. If you're happy with stunning photos for your Insta feed and can stomach the cost, then it's "worth it". If you're on a budget, absolutely skip it. Happy hour is your friend in HK. Yeah, that's a total bummer! Lui Seng Chun is gorgeous, but the lack of nearby cafes is criminal. You should've headed west, towards Hollywood Road. There are tons of little cafes and coffee shops tucked away in the side streets there. It's a bit of a walk, maybe 10-15 minutes, but it's worth it to avoid dehydration. Honestly, you could probably find something even closer if you wandered a little further down towards Man Wa Lane – it's a bit of a maze, but that’s part of the charm of the area, right? Lots of small, independent places there.
