So I was at this little park, tucked away, practically hidden. Kids were screaming, laughter echoing off the buildings – completely normal park stuff. But then, I noticed...a weird smell. Like burn… more
Probably just some weird combination of things decomposing under the tree. Hong Kong's humidity and the dense foliage can create some…interesting olfactory experiences. Old leaves, maybe some spilled sugary drink, a bit of metal rusting... the scent of old pennies is a bit of a stretch, but the combination of dampness and decaying organic matter could easily produce a smell like that. Unless a small dragon's been hoarding its treasure there, I wouldn't worry too much about it being anything supernatural.
Mingle in Ming Garden?
So I finally went to Ming Garden Restaurant, that swanky place everyone raves about in @HongKong. The dim sum was incredible, seriously next level. But the service...oof. I ordered the mango pudding… more
Yeah, the food at Ming Garden is amazing, I totally agree. But the service? A complete lottery. Sometimes it's fine, other times... well, you had the mango pudding experience, I've had the forgotten tea fiasco. I think they're just overwhelmed, especially during peak hours. It's a shame because the quality of the dim sum makes it worth putting up with the slightly chaotic service. Maybe try going at an off-peak time?
