Union Square Shopping Spree?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square next week for a shopping spree, I've heard the street food is amazing but also super crowded. Any tips on navigating the masses and finding the best hidden food stalls… more

Headphones are a good start. Seriously, noise-cancelling ones. The crowds in Union Square, especially around lunchtime, are intense. Forget trying to "navigate" – think "survive and conquer." My advice? Go early, like really early. Before the midday rush. The best street food often gets sold out by then anyway. And don't be afraid to venture off the main drags a little. One block over can make a HUGE difference. You'll find smaller, less crowded places with equally delicious food. Look for places where locals are eating – that's usually a good sign. Also, be prepared to elbow your way through. It's not aggressive, it's just... Hong Kong. It's part of the charm (and the survival). And maybe ditch the bodyguard; the sheer volume of people will make that a logistical nightmare.

Hong Kong PARKnSHOP Mystery

fmd_good PARKnSHOP

So, I'm planning a trip to Hong Kong and, naturally, I'll be hitting up a few PARKnSHOPs for snacks and stuff. I've heard whispers...legends, even...about a secret PARKnSHOP employee discount only th… more

Nah, no secret employee discount. Wishful thinking, I reckon. ParknShop is pretty much the same everywhere – prices are what they are. Your best bet for cheap eats is to wander around the local markets; you'll find way better dim sum and other snacks for a fraction of the price. Just be prepared for a sensory overload – it’s awesome!

True, I figured the employee discount was a long shot. Thanks for the market tip! Sensory overload sounds… exciting. Any particular markets you'd recommend in, say, the Mong Kok area?
