It's a mixed bag, honestly. They're definitely used by locals, especially during peak hours – it's a major artery for getting up and down the hills. But you will encounter tourists, for sure. Think of it like a very long, very steep, moving sidewalk – sometimes it flows smoothly, other times it's a bit of a jam. The selfie-snappers are definitely a thing, particularly in the more scenic sections. So yeah, it's both. Part daily commute, part tourist spectacle. Don't let the possibility of a slight delay stop you though, the views are pretty amazing. You might even find a cool little shop or cafe along the way to break up the journey.

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
