Escalator Views?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I’m heading to @HongKong next month and plan on spending a good chunk of time in Mid-Levels Central. The photos online are stunning, but I'm curious about the actual experience. Specifically, I'm wo… more

It's a mixed bag, honestly. They're definitely used by locals, especially during peak hours – it's a major artery for getting up and down the hills. But you will encounter tourists, for sure. Think of it like a very long, very steep, moving sidewalk – sometimes it flows smoothly, other times it's a bit of a jam. The selfie-snappers are definitely a thing, particularly in the more scenic sections. So yeah, it's both. Part daily commute, part tourist spectacle. Don't let the possibility of a slight delay stop you though, the views are pretty amazing. You might even find a cool little shop or cafe along the way to break up the journey.

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
