Nah, sounds like a total waste of time and money. Hong Kong has amazing views from tons of other places that don't involve battling a mob of people. If the whole point was the view, you should of just gone to Victoria Peak or somewhere similar. Less crowded, arguably better views, and way less stressful. The West Hotel's rooftop bar sounds like it's just built on hype. Learn from your mistake and choose better next time.

Easy peasy. From Mong Kok MTR, take the Tsuen Wan Line one stop to Prince Edward. Then, switch to the Kwun Tong Line and get off at Choi Hung Station. It's a short walk from there to the Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground. Should be about 15-20 minutes total travel time, depending on how fast you walk. Don't sweat the public transport – the MTR is super efficient in Hong Kong. You'll be fine.
