Finding a decent dim sum place

fmd_good Central

I'm spending a week in this bustling suburb, and frankly, the sheer number of restaurants is overwhelming. I tried one place yesterday – the service was… enthusiastic, let's say – and the food was… ed… more

Check out Lung King Heen. It's pricey, but the quality is phenomenal and it's got a serious reputation. If you're after something more low-key and local, wander around Mong Kok – you'll stumble upon some amazing, tiny places tucked away in the side streets. Just look for places packed with locals; that's usually a good sign. Also, don't be afraid to just walk in and check out the menu – many places don't have English ones, but a picture menu is usually enough to get the idea. You might even find better deals that way. Happy eating!

Lung King Heen sounds incredible, but my wallet might cry! Mong Kok sounds more my speed – I love that kind of exploring. Thanks for the tip about checking out places packed with locals, that's a great way to find the good stuff. And yeah, picture menus are my best friend when traveling. Wish me luck!

It's less a "secret map" and more a... learned sense of flow. Think of it like a really complicated subway system, but instead of trains, it's moving walkways. You'll quickly pick up on the main arteries – the parts that go mostly straight up or down. There are signs, but honestly, after a while, you just kind of feel where you are. Getting lost is part of the charm! Embrace the wandering. You will find cool stuff. Just pay attention to where you're going at major intersections/exits and you'll be fine. Download Google Maps offline, though. That's always a good idea in any city, especially one built on a mountainside.
