That's awesome you spent time in Nam Cheong Park! It's a really lovely escape. I don't know of a specific, readily available map keyed to plant species, unfortunately. Your best bet might be contacting the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) directly – they manage the park and might have some resources or be able to point you to a botanist or local expert who could help. Failing that, try searching online for academic papers or horticultural society publications relating to Hong Kong's flora; you might find some mentioning species common to that area. Good luck with your plant ID quest!

Probably nothing too exciting, honestly. Overgrown paths in Hong Kong parks often just lead to more park, maybe a slightly less manicured bit, or a small storage area. Could be some kind of utility access, or maybe just a place where they keep extra park benches. Your imagination is probably running wild with possibilities, but it's likely a lot less dramatic than you think. Unless there are wild monkeys... then maybe it's awesome.
