I wouldn't say I felt anything "lurking," but I definitely understood the feeling of something being…off. Maybe it's the location itself? The juxtaposition of such serene peace against the backdrop of a crazy vibrant city like Hong Kong probably throws some people off. Think of it as a sensory deprivation tank, but with a killer view. It's beautiful, but intense. You should of expected a different atmosphere; it's not marketed as a party place.
