Totally agree! Sai Kung's reputation definitely doesn't do it justice. Those official maps are useless, I've gotten hopelessly lost using them before. Gaia GPS sounds like a game-changer, thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into a local SIM too; I'd hate to lose signal and end up spending the night out there... brrr. A guide is a tempting idea, especially since I'm not the most confident hiker. Knowing someone's got your back, and can show you the best views, definitely outweighs the cost. Thanks for the detailed advice, I really appreciate the safety reminders – you're right, being prepared is key, especially when those trails get so remote.
