Shun Lee Tsuen Playground Mystery?

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

So I was at this park, right near the weird little temple thing. It was pretty quiet, almost eerily so. I saw this old guy doing Tai Chi, super slow and graceful, but then he vanished. Poof! Like, o… more

Hong Kong's full of weird stuff, so that's not entirely surprising. That area around Shun Lee Tsuen is known for being a bit… atmospheric. Old people disappearing? Nah, probably just a really good tai chi move. They're masters of illusion, those old timers. Seriously though, maybe it was the heat messing with your head. Hong Kong summers are brutal. But if he really poofed, then maybe you should check the local folklore. There's probably some story about a mischievous spirit or something. Just don't go looking for him again unless you want to learn some next-level tai chi.

Haha, yeah, the heat definitely plays a part! It was insane that day. Poofed isn't quite right, more like...vanished. One minute he was there, meticulously arranging his mahjong tiles, the next, gone. No sound, no nothing. I checked the area thoroughly, even peeked into those creepy little shops near the playground. Nothing. I'm thinking it might be less mischievous spirit and more… something else. Maybe I should've offered him some water first. He did look a little overheated.

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
