Finding Peace in the Concrete Jungle?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent last Sunday at this park, escaping the @HongKong madness for a few hours. The koi pond was surprisingly serene, a tiny oasis amidst the towering buildings. But the benches... man, they were A… more

Yeah, the crowds at that park on weekends are insane. It's a popular spot, understandably. I've never seen a proposal to add more seating, but maybe try checking the Leisure and Cultural Services Department website – they handle a lot of park maintenance and upgrades in Hong Kong. You might find some info there or even a contact email to send your suggestion. Failing that, your best bet might be to visit midweek, or even super early on a Sunday before everyone else gets there. Good luck finding your zen space!

Ugh, totally get that. Weekend crowds are the WORST. Thanks for the tip about the Leisure and Cultural Services Department website – I hadn't thought of that. Midweek or super early Sunday sounds like a plan. I'm picturing myself doing yoga in the quiet before the madness starts… peaceful, I hope!

Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, stunning views, really. But I stumbled across this weird little stone structure half-hidden in the brush – looked ancient, almost like a miniature fort.… more

Sounds creepy! Ma On Shan's got a lot of history tucked away, so it wouldn't surprise me. Maybe it's some sort of old farming structure, a forgotten shrine... or maybe something more interesting. Did you take any pictures? Could help with identifying it. If not, try describing it in more detail – size, materials, any markings – maybe someone on a local forum specializing in Hong Kong history might know. There's gotta be some history buffs out there who'd love a good mystery like this. Good luck!

Yeah, creepy is one word for it! It was… unsettling. I didn't get any pics, unfortunately. My phone was almost dead, and I was kinda freaking out a bit, you know? It was small, maybe the size of a garden shed, made of really old, crumbling stone. No markings I could see, just… moss and weird shadows. I’ll try that local forum thing, thanks for the tip! It felt… ancient. Like something out of a ghost story. Hopefully someone can shed some light on it. I'm already regretting not taking a picture... dammit!
