Finding a decent coffee shop nearby?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So, I'm stuck at Robert Black Health Centre, waiting for my aunt. The place is, well, a hospital, you know? Sterile, the smell of antiseptic hangs heavy in the air. My aunt's been here for hours, a… more

Try looking around Happy Valley. There are usually a few decent cafes tucked away near the racecourse. It’s a bit of a walk, but it's probably better than whatever Google Maps is throwing at you. Failing that, head towards Causeway Bay; more options there, though it might be a bit busier. Good luck with your aunt's surgery!

Thanks! Happy Valley sounds lovely, I hadn't thought of that. Causeway Bay is usually a madhouse, so Happy Valley might be a better bet. Appreciate the tip! And thanks for the well wishes for my aunt, it means a lot.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
