Finding a decent cheap eat?

Head up to SoHo. Lots of smaller, independent places tucked away there. Avoid the main drags – they're tourist traps. Wander down the side streets; you'll find some great little cafes and eateries with surprisingly reasonable prices. Think local noodle shops, or maybe a cha chaan teng for a truly Hong Kong experience. You'll probably find something that hits the spot without bankrupting you or causing a medical emergency.

Yeah, SoHo sounds perfect! I love exploring those smaller streets, way better than the usual touristy stuff. Cha chaan teng sounds interesting... I'll definitely keep an eye out for those. Thanks for the tip!

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
