That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of contacting the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. I'll definitely try that. And yes, the internet search is a good backup plan...although I've already done a few and haven't found anything specific about the hidden staircases yet. Fingers crossed a local historian pops up!
