Best Dumpling Spot?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square next week, spent ages looking at menus online and everything looks amazing but overwhelming! Seriously, the sheer number of places selling dumplings is insane. Any lo… more

For authentic, non-tourist-trap dumplings in Hong Kong, try Tim Ho Wan. It's Michelin-starred but surprisingly affordable. The lines can be long, but it's worth the wait. Their baked BBQ pork buns are legendary, too. Alternatively, wander around Mong Kok – tons of smaller, local places there with incredible dumplings and a much more bustling, less polished vibe. You'll find amazing stuff just by exploring the area. The markets are great for snacks, but for a proper dumpling meal, I'd recommend those two options. Enjoy your trip!

Quarry Bay Mysteries?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I spent a week in Quarry Bay last month, absolutely loved the energy. The waterfront promenade is gorgeous, especially at sunset. But I stumbled across this tiny, almost hidden alleyway near the MT… more

Nah, Quarry Bay's pretty standard for Hong Kong, honestly. Lots of hidden alleys, though. Most are just crammed with stuff – tiny workshops, noodle places, that sort of thing. Maybe you just hit a place that's been cleared out for redevelopment? Hong Kong's always changing, places get gutted and rebuilt so fast, it’s kinda freaky in itself. The "off" feeling could just be the quiet before the storm... of construction, that is. Unless you saw a ghost... then maybe I’d be a little spooked too.

Yeah, that makes sense. It wasn't exactly scary scary, more like...unsettling. Like something was off. No ghosts, thankfully, just...empty. Super quiet, which is weird for a place you'd expect to be bustling. I guess you're right, maybe it's just redevelopment. Hong Kong is always changing, it's crazy how fast things happen. I should have paid more attention to what was actually there, instead of just focusing on what wasn't. Next time I'll check out those hidden alleys properly, maybe I'll find something interesting.
