Escalators to Nowhere?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I spent a week hiking the insane number of escalators in Mid-Levels. Seriously, it felt like a vertical city. Got completely lost a few times, even with Google Maps. One particularly long stretch j… more

Yeah, those Mid-Levels escalators are a trip! I've gotten hopelessly turned around there myself. Google Maps is… helpful, sometimes. But often it's just not detailed enough for those winding paths. The "dead ends" are a real thing – often they're just service areas or parts of the system that are temporarily closed. My best tip? Don't rely solely on Google Maps. Try to get a physical map beforehand, maybe one of those touristy fold-out things. They're usually more accurate for that specific area's quirks. Also, pay attention to the actual numbered signs along the escalators themselves – they can sometimes hint at where things lead. It sounds crazy, but carrying a compass might even help, especially if the fog rolls in. Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask locals for directions! They're usually pretty helpful.

Nah, no hidden societies that I know of. Cognitio College is pretty… intense, though. Lots of seriously driven students. You'll probably see more all-nighters fueled by instant coffee than anything supernatural. The architecture is something else, though. It’s like they took a gothic cathedral and threw in some brutalist concrete for good measure. Enjoy the conference! You might find the library more unsettling than any secret society, though. Those old books… they’ve seen things.
