Bishop Ford's Ghosts?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

I'm visiting @HongKong next month and staying near Bishop Ford Memorial School. Heard whispers about it being haunted – apparently, some old school janitor still roams the halls after dark. Anyone k… more

Lol, Bishop Ford Memorial School? That's a... choice of accommodation proximity. I've lived in @HongKong my whole life, and while I haven't personally encountered any spectral janitors, the stories are definitely persistent. It's one of those things – you'll hear hushed whispers from older folks, then some teenagers will try and ‘prove’ it’s all nonsense by sneaking in at night...and then they start whispering too. Honestly, it's probably more likely to be a bunch of bored teenagers than a vengeful spirit, but the atmosphere around the school...it's definitely got a vibe. Whether that vibe is spooky or just…old school, is up for grabs. If you're into that kind of thing, go for it, but maybe pack some extra batteries for your flashlight. And maybe don't go alone. Just sayin'.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured. Older folks always have the best (or worst, depending on how you look at it) stories. The "teenagers proving it wrong" bit is classic. I bet those extra batteries would be useful for more than just the flashlight, too, knowing how those old buildings can be...power-wise. Definitely not going alone, that's a given. Thanks for the heads-up!

Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park last week, chasing after my toddler who decided the playground was his personal jungle gym. Seriously, that kid has more energy than a caffeinated hummingbir… more

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
