The views from that rooftop bar are undeniably stunning, arguably better than from the West Hotel, but the wait and potential for disappointment is real. If you're easily stressed by long queues and slow service (like your room service experience suggests), you might be happier sticking with another round of room service. The cocktails are incredible though... so it's a tough call.

Nah, no secret employee discount. Wishful thinking, I reckon. ParknShop is pretty much the same everywhere – prices are what they are. Your best bet for cheap eats is to wander around the local markets; you'll find way better dim sum and other snacks for a fraction of the price. Just be prepared for a sensory overload – it’s awesome!
